Have to shout out Clark Haus - what from the outside looks like it's going to be one of those liquor stores with a minimal selection of overpriced groceries, ends up being a magical emporium consisting of exactly what you stepped in there to find. Not sure how they do it in a small space, but they always have what I'm looking for, no matter how obscure. Tiramisu? Nondairy creamer? Queso fresco? A niche brand of potato chips from Michigan? Breakfast burritos? No problem. They also don't jack up the prices nearly as much as they could, given their location as a hyperlocal tiny grocery amongst art galleries and salons, and I send thanks to them for that, as someone who lives around the corner and just needs to pop out for some last minute forgotten ingredient.

They have everything that you might need without running to a local grocery store. They have fresh fruit and produce and a nice selection of beer and wine. They also have a nice selection of candy and chocolates. Everyone that works behind the counter is super friendly and helpful when your looking for a particular item or beverage.

Well stocked corner store that is perfect when you have the munchies or need to buy a bottle of wine on your way to a house party. Staff is great and they are well stocked with pantry/fridge items such as milk, frozen pizza, frozen food, etc.

My husband and I were looking for a place to buy a bottle of wine for our last night in Chicago that was open late. We came across Clark Haus, and decided to go since it was relatively close to our Airbnb. They had a surprisingly large selection of wines and other beverages, all at reasonable prices. We picked up a random Chianti and it was pretty good, and a great way to end our last night in Chicago!

I've never been a fan of what most refer to as "liquor stores." However, thanks to Zach's impeccable taste in design and product choices, Clark Haus has reinvented the wheel, as far as I'm concerned. They raised the barre for all the others, and I'm proud to claim them as "my local corner store," where if I ever do purchase wine/champagne, it will only be from these fine fellows. Ps. Today, I learnt a bit of backstory about the La Primera transition to Clark Haus. Without mentioning names or going into details, please trust when I say, no other such store in Andersonville deserves our patronage.

Since before this place relocated from the their old spot down the block, my wife and I have called it "The Room of Requirement." We've stopped counting the amount of times we've thrown up a Hail Mary pass for last minute ingredients and they magically seemed to have it. It's priced up as you'd expect from a convenience store, but the sheer amount of variety and good quality they have is wild. I swear I see new products like Vito & Nick's pizza and Cannoli Ben & Jerry's here before I see it at Jewel. In addition to that this place has one of the best beer selections in the city for craft beer. I'm not a big wine drinker, but I'd be willing to bet their selection their is equally as much of a labor of love. The staff is ridiculously nice too, they really make you feel like you're part of a community. As far as I'm concerned this store is a big part of what makes this neighborhood feel like home, and it wouldn't be the same without it.
